Tropical Further Offshore Emergency Training with Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System (CA-EBS)
Delegates must hold a valid (in-date) OPITO approved BOSIET, TBOSIET, BOSIET (with CA-EBS), FOET, TFOET or FOET (with CA-EBS) certificate – delegates who hold a current BOSIET, FOET, T-BOSIET, T-FOET are not required to participate in practical life raft and in-water sea survival exercises. Training and/or assessment activities contained within this Standard may include physically demanding and potentially stressful elements. All personnel who participate in such activities must be physically and mentally capable of participating fully.
The T-FOET will provide delegates with the opportunity to practice and demonstrate emergency response skills which are not possible to practice during drills, exercises and emergency training offshore and to complement initial and further offshore safety and emergency response training and assessment (i.e. TBOSIET, or T-FOET) for personnel travelling to an offshore oil and gas installation by helicopter (in a warm water tropical environment) when issued with a Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System (CA-EBS). During the training session, delegates will be assessed against the learning outcomes specified in D.5 (TFOET) and A.5 (CA-EBS) (as per OPITO standard) using direct observation.
